Due to the success of the UKDC’s operation in developing new technologies and continued expansion into new markets, there has arisen the need to supplement the newly formed EE design team with an enthusiastic engineer who has a real interest in creating high level designs. The engineer will be encouraged to contribute to the designs, the processes and the environment within the team.     Specific Duties include:
  • Designing high quality audio, analogue and digital circuits for client projects at all stages from feasibility through to manufacture
  • Collaborating with software, mechanical and manufacturing engineers across the globe to understand complex electronic requirements and provide input into the most appropriate system architecture
  • Interacting with our clients to plan projects, identify and formalise design requirements, implement, test, and ultimately release finished designs
  • Contributing to the electronics hardware development within multidisciplinary projects
  • Supporting integration & verification activities at hardware and system level
  Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Degree in Electronics with at least 3+ years of electronics design, electronics research or design for manufacture experience
  • Strong circuit understanding and PCB layout ability of designed schematic
  • Direct experience in assembling PCBs and commissioning designs
  • A good grounding in software, small signal or power supply design
  • Use of CAD packages for Schematic Entry, PCB Layout, Simulation and software development
  • Use of Microsoft office applications and teams
  Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Use of Sigma DSP and/or SHARC Code Composer
  • A basic knowledge of acoustics and the application in electronics
  • Ability to follow through with tasks and some degree of self-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communications skills

The lead acoustic engineer will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop specific product ranges of first-rate audio products, from concept through to production for some of the world’s leading high-end brands.   Responsibilities:
  • Develop audio systems and/or transducers for professional Live sound, Studio, high-end Hi-fi and automotive.
  • Convert product concept into engineering activities from RFQ through to final product delivery.
  • Plan and manage a team of engineers, whilst coaching and developing them to create a high performing team.
  • Collaborating with acoustic, electronic, mechanical and manufacturing engineers across the globe to design and develop high quality transducers and audio systems.
  • Interacting with customers to plan projects, identify and formalise design requirements, implement, test, and ultimately release finished designs
  • Oversee measuring, listening and analysis of prototypes and competitive products, objectively and subjectively.
  • Strive for excellence, quality, and efficiency
  Essential Skills and Experience:  
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in acoustics, physics, electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering, or other science/technology subject if relevant
  • At least 5 or more years of loudspeaker or transducer development experience
  • Experience in specifying audio transducers and acoustic system requirements
  • Experience in developing passive and active crossovers, and acoustic system tuning with DSP.
  • Keen to develop product design skills working in a large acoustic and electronic product design group
  • Very organised, self-motivated with a strong capacity to recognise priorities, whilst being process-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient at using Microsoft packages
  Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience of leading a team of engineers
  • Experience in the consumer or professional audio industry
  • Experience in design and opitimisation of transducers and their components
  • Experience of using Anechoic facilities, AP, Klippel (LSI, SCN, PWT) comsol etc
  • Experience in project management, preferably using Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in a multinational company
