The company, as it exists today, was formed in 2005 through a merger of Tymphany Corporation, inventor of the revolutionary Tymphany Linear Array Transducer (LAT), and Danish Sound Technology, producer of renowned audio transducer brands Peerless, ScanSpeak, and Vifa. Combining an 80 year history of Danish acoustical engineering expertise, and Silicon Valley technology innovation, with world-class, cost-effective manufacturing capabilities in China, Tymphany is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of today's demanding global marketplace.

The Tymphany Linear Array Transducer (LAT)

The company's new product line - the Tymphany LAT - is the most significant breakthrough in subwoofer technology since the inception of the subwoofer. With its slim, cylindrical form factor, no mechanical vibration, and sleek styling, the Tymphany LAT can pack the power and bass experience of conventional cone-shaped transducers into a much narrower or shallower space. For the first time, deep, high quality bass sound is possible in today's new lifestyle consumer electronics products, giving manufacturers of these products a great way to differentiate their systems.

Tymphany Brands

In addition to the Tymphany LAT, the company's portfolio of brands includes renowned speaker lines ScanSpeak, Peerless, and Vifa. For over 80 years, these high quality brands have been used by many of the world's leading producers of finished high-end audio systems.

Manufacturing

Tymphany's premium ScanSpeak line is handcrafted at an ISO-certified facility in Denmark, while its Peerless, Vifa and Tymphany LAT products are manufactured in the company's state-of-the-art, ISO-certified facility in PanYu, China.

  • 1999 Vifa XT Tweeter patented, the first Tweeter to comply with Super Audio Standard
  • 2000 Danish Sound Technology (DST) formed by merging Peerless and Vifa/ScanSpeak

  • 2002 Tymphany Corporation established

  • 2003 Independent company Vifa International A/S spun off to market home audio products
